The JVC LT-32P679 is a 32-inch LCD HDTV having a resolution of 720p. Although it has a lesser resolution compared to the 1080p HDTVs in the market, it only comes with a tag of $600 MSRP and compensates for it with the introduction of the novel iPod dock. It is a flip-down dock which opens just underneath the front display which can accommodate the iPod or iPhone. You can view all the music, photos and videos from the iPod on the JVC LT-32P679 while having your iPod charged. Your iPod will continue to charge so as you keep this TV on. However, the disadvantage is that you cannot choose your playlists, artists or albums on the HDTV screen. You can do this just in the iPod.
All the inputs and outputs are located at the rear right side which comes in small sizes and are very easy to access. The main inputs include 3 HDMI for connecting to gaming consoles, camcorders or DVD players; and 1 USB port for plugging in your digital camera. Although it has fine connectivity, the JVC LT-32P679 has quite an unbearable remote. It is does not fit snugly to the palm because of its rather large size. The remote is pretty awkward to say. The menu is quite easy to navigate, however you might find it hard to read off the submenus as the letters are a bit small. You might want to consider not using the translucent effect on the letters as this makes it difficult to read.
The surround sound system of the JVC LT-32P679 is not very remarkable for one that has built-in stereo speakers. They all fall short in providing a good surround sound audio compared to other HDTV’s of this type. When we look at picture quality, the black levels are a bit notable but the white levels still has plenty of room for improvement. It is the alike with colors. Bright colors look halfhearted on the screen. The sober colors look fine. So if you are agreeable to make compromises, the JVC LT-32P679 is not a bad set to own.
The viewing angle is better off if you are sitting directly in front of the TV. If you move to a corner of the room, you might lose the good view. The colors will have a tendency to lighten and the picture quality is affected. But for the little price, the JVC LT-32P679 is a good buy. There are many features which will keep you immersed. You might want to consider buying this if you need a second TV for your house rather than the main one.
