The Hitachi P50X902 is part of the premiere Director’s Series Line from Hitachi. It comes in a 50 inch sleek and elegantly designed widescreen using plasma (PDP) technology. This gives the viewers stellar viewing experience without compromising artistry. It also has a motorized pivot attached to an oval-shaped base which can turn this TV 30 degree, left or right. Now you won’t have to worry about seating positions, this TV will can turn sideways.
The PictureMaster HD VI video processor found in the P50X902 is just stellar. It converts all incoming signal to match the Full HD 1080P panel and ensures superb picture quality regardless of input type or resolution format. So even if your original video format is not high-definition, it will feel like it is when you watch it with the P50X902. Using the Full HD 1080P resolution standard, it gives you clear and sharp details. Of course with Hitachi’s Reel60 Film processing technology, frames are created so it can adapt the motion of movies, reducing blur and making it a crystal-clear viewing experience all throughout. This TV has 3 HDMI 1.3 v video inputs, with one for high definition video and audio in the same connection. It has a convenient anti-glare property. You never have to worry watching your favorite shows in the daylight. However as good as these features sound, the 16-bit color depth did not suffice for the vibrant color needed by a plasma TV. The color and contrast ratio is not really that of greatness.
The set-up process is just a breeze. All connectors are placed conveniently with the set up wizard guiding you step-by-step. It also has a TV Guide On Screen System that you can access using the remote’s guide button. It comes as a full screen menu with TV Guide logo which is pretty much easy to navigate. It is a bit slow though when you make selections. Parents worrying over what their kids are watching can take a breath with the parental lock control system. It also has a back-lit remote control that makes those keys easier to find.
The P50X902 comes with a card slot that supports SD memory cards. This allows you to view your favorite pictures in widescreen. This TV is powered with two 10W speakers that have bass boost and virtual surround sound effects. Although the speakers might have a strained effect with high volumes, the sound system is still able to complement the great visual for an overall fantastic cinematic experience.
