LC-60E88UN is Sharp’s latest model of high-end Liquid Crystal Display High Definition Television. To satisfy the astute attitude of high definition television enthusiasts, Sharp has developed this model. This 60 inch LCD television model has full High Definition (1920 x 1080) resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate. The model together with its extremely preferred screen size is a reasonably priced large screen option for home.

The Sharp LC-60E88UN features Sharp X-Gen panel which has been intended for dramatic image display. The X-Gen panel is Sharp’s most recent LCD panel technology. It is developed with supplementary pixel control to bring into being extremely deep black levels by minimizing light leakage. The X-Gen panel is also designed to put forward a wider aperture making more light possible to pass through the panel thereby producing higher peak brightness. The 240 Hz Fine Motion Advanced technology makes the model just the thing for high definition viewing. The panel with high refresh rate is able of producing finer picture quality for enthralling content like sports and movies. Another important thing is that it can maintain the color range even for the fast-action images. The novel black design of the model is also featured to go with the high-quality picture.

Apart from Sharp’s proprietary Full HD 108op X-Gen LCD panel, the LC-60E88UN is also equipped with UV2A technology and 10-bit processing for exceptionally clear and bright picture.

The connection panel of this model includes 4 HDMI ports, S-video, and VGA connections. Aside from giving a wide range of connectivity alternatives with the model, Sharp has installed the model with Instaport Quick Switching feature. This is probably one of the most useful features of the model. It allows no delay or lag time while changing the input. The model is also amenable with Energy Star’s version 4.0 standards. A Vyper Drive Gaming Mode is also featured with the model. It helps establish the action without delay when the game is commenced.
For consumers who are in search for Internet connectivity with their television, the LC-60E88UN puts forward Sharp’s Aquos Net. It gives personalized Internet content and live customer assistance through Ethernet.

This rich glossy black look is perfect for the looks of the TV. All the ports are placed at the rear and sides. Being supported by a swivel stand makes it easy to personalize the settings as you want to. Besides showing off a great picture quality, this HDTV has all the components of an economical HDTV. The front panel is entirely free of all embellishment except for an LED light at the bottom right corner of the TV. The remote is quite well considered with about 50 buttons arranged efficiently on the surface. It fits quite securely into the hand and is trouble-free to use for navigation purposes.

The brightness tends to stay on the screen even if the screen is diminished to a entirely dark one. The contrast ratio of 2500:1 is not very well resulting to poor black levels. This is an intrinsic problem of all LCD panels but it has become a bit more exaggerated in the Insignia NS-L26Q-10A. The brightness level is quite marvelous being a good 450 cd/m². The color temperature is also within the set limits providing for a grand viewing experience. But there are various problems involving blurring and artifacting. But these effects are not very perceptible.
even though there is a setback with the screen reflections, it is not very disturbing. And because of the 3D Y/C digital comb filter, the noise is filtered out leaving a lucid and crisp picture. The viewing angle is pretty fine, being 176 degrees for both the horizontal and vertical directions.

This makes sure that you acquire a good view of the TV even if you are seated a bit afar from the TV. The audio is good with its two 5W speakers but it could still have been enhanced. But the Insignia NS-L26Q-10A is very conscientious about adhering to the Energy Star requirements.
This HDTV is quite inclusive with respect to the features you will be expecting on any set. Connectivity options are respectable in this set. There are 2 HDMI which can be applied to input high definition programming. The added ports in the sides and rear include 2 composite, 1 component, 1 S-video, 1 PC and 1 RF input. With the swivel stand, you can access these ports quite effortlessly. The PC input lets you change the TV to a computer monitor and look at all your applications on high definition. With a price tag of $329.99 MSRP, it is set to provide rigid competition to the other HDTVs in this series.

Insignia NS-L26Q-10A Features and Specifications Review:

• 26” display
• 16:9 aspect ratio
• 2500:1 contrast ratio
• 720p display resolution
• 3D Y/C digital filter
• 2 HDMI
• 5W/channel
• 2 speakers
• Sound leveler
• V-chip control
• 60 Hz refresh rate
• Energy Star qualified

The 47LX9500 is part of LG’s flagship LX9500 line of 3D ready TVs and it captures you with a stunning 47 inch, 480Hz LED backlit LCD display. Crushing the 1” barrier once again, this svelte model from LG is all set to flatter all the customers in the HDTV market; both for its trendy exterior as well as its imposing features. The ground-breaking ultra-slim 8.5 mm bezel allows the viewer to take in the rich colors and vibrant images on the screen without being sidetracked by a thick bezel. LG has taken a minimalist approach in the design of the 47LX9500 with a graceful glassy look for this 3D TV. Although LED-LCD TVs are becoming more widespread, but only a handful of top models like the 47LX9500 use a “full array” backlight — the gold bearing for picture contrast and black levels. These LEDs are grouped into 216 zones which can independently shine, dim, or darken. This precisely controlled “local dimming” enables the TV to simultaneously display everything from the velvety black of the galaxy to the brilliant white of sunny beach day — even in the same scene. This helped ease one of the chief drawbacks of LCD displays, specifically the backlight bleeding in dark regions of the screen.

The final verdict on picture quality will have to be on hold as no one has gotten a closer look on this TV. On the other hand, it should be mentioned that the 47LX9500 is a THX certified 3D television which means that it passed more than 30 rigorous picture quality tests to ensure top-notch image resolution and color accuracy. What is even better is that it has an automatic THX settings modulator. THX settings are changed accordingly during daytime and for night viewing. The 47LX9500 has a standard resolution of 1080p, i.e. 1920 x 1080 that is pretty much what is offered with other LED TVs in the market.

If you have a wireless network at home, you don’t need any messy cables for your 47LX9500. You can just add LG’s Wi-Fi adapter and you can automatically watch your internet content on the TV’s wide screen. You can watch movies from your Netflix® Instant Queue, download high-def on-demand titles from Vudu®, or even initiate a video call with a friend using Skype™. The LG 47LX9500 has a great number of A/V ports counting 4 HDMI ports, 2 sets of component inputs, a VGA port and 2 USB ports. This television set also sustains DLNA, which means that you will be able to effortlessly stream media to your 3D TV via devices that support DLNA. Other bells and whistles consist of a Wii like remote called the ‘Magic Wand’ for interacting with the TV and the Clear Voice II feature that boosts the volume and clearness of dialogues in movies and shows without disturbing the background music/sound effects.

47LX9500 Features and Specifications

• 3D Ready HDTV
• 47” Screen
• 480Hz Trumotion
• Full LED slim display panel
• Elegant aesthetics
• THX certified display
• Wireless HD streaming
• Magic Wand Remote Control
• Internet enabled

The JVC LT-32P679 is a 32-inch LCD HDTV having a resolution of 720p. Although it has a lesser resolution compared to the 1080p HDTVs in the market, it only comes with a tag of $600 MSRP and compensates for it with the introduction of the novel iPod dock. It is a flip-down dock which opens just underneath the front display which can accommodate the iPod or iPhone. You can view all the music, photos and videos from the iPod on the JVC LT-32P679 while having your iPod charged. Your iPod will continue to charge so as you keep this TV on. However, the disadvantage is that you cannot choose your playlists, artists or albums on the HDTV screen. You can do this just in the iPod.

All the inputs and outputs are located at the rear right side which comes in small sizes and are very easy to access. The main inputs include 3 HDMI for connecting to gaming consoles, camcorders or DVD players; and 1 USB port for plugging in your digital camera. Although it has fine connectivity, the JVC LT-32P679 has quite an unbearable remote. It is does not fit snugly to the palm because of its rather large size. The remote is pretty awkward to say. The menu is quite easy to navigate, however you might find it hard to read off the submenus as the letters are a bit small. You might want to consider not using the translucent effect on the letters as this makes it difficult to read.

The surround sound system of the JVC LT-32P679 is not very remarkable for one that has built-in stereo speakers. They all fall short in providing a good surround sound audio compared to other HDTV’s of this type. When we look at picture quality, the black levels are a bit notable but the white levels still has plenty of room for improvement. It is the alike with colors. Bright colors look halfhearted on the screen. The sober colors look fine. So if you are agreeable to make compromises, the JVC LT-32P679 is not a bad set to own.

The viewing angle is better off if you are sitting directly in front of the TV. If you move to a corner of the room, you might lose the good view. The colors will have a tendency to lighten and the picture quality is affected. But for the little price, the JVC LT-32P679 is a good buy. There are many features which will keep you immersed. You might want to consider buying this if you need a second TV for your house rather than the main one.

JVC LT-32P679 Features and Specifications Review:
• 32” display
• 720p resolution
• 13,000:1 contrast ratio
• 6.5 ms response time
• 10 bit image processor
• USB port
• ATSC/QAM tuner
• 3 HDMI
• iPod dock

The Hitachi P50X902 is part of the premiere Director’s Series Line from Hitachi. It comes in a 50 inch sleek and elegantly designed widescreen using plasma (PDP) technology. This gives the viewers stellar viewing experience without compromising artistry. It also has a motorized pivot attached to an oval-shaped base which can turn this TV 30 degree, left or right. Now you won’t have to worry about seating positions, this TV will can turn sideways.

The PictureMaster HD VI video processor found in the P50X902 is just stellar. It converts all incoming signal to match the Full HD 1080P panel and ensures superb picture quality regardless of input type or resolution format. So even if your original video format is not high-definition, it will feel like it is when you watch it with the P50X902. Using the Full HD 1080P resolution standard, it gives you clear and sharp details. Of course with Hitachi’s Reel60 Film processing technology, frames are created so it can adapt the motion of movies, reducing blur and making it a crystal-clear viewing experience all throughout. This TV has 3 HDMI 1.3 v video inputs, with one for high definition video and audio in the same connection. It has a convenient anti-glare property. You never have to worry watching your favorite shows in the daylight. However as good as these features sound, the 16-bit color depth did not suffice for the vibrant color needed by a plasma TV. The color and contrast ratio is not really that of greatness.

The set-up process is just a breeze. All connectors are placed conveniently with the set up wizard guiding you step-by-step. It also has a TV Guide On Screen System that you can access using the remote’s guide button. It comes as a full screen menu with TV Guide logo which is pretty much easy to navigate. It is a bit slow though when you make selections. Parents worrying over what their kids are watching can take a breath with the parental lock control system. It also has a back-lit remote control that makes those keys easier to find.

The P50X902 comes with a card slot that supports SD memory cards. This allows you to view your favorite pictures in widescreen. This TV is powered with two 10W speakers that have bass boost and virtual surround sound effects. Although the speakers might have a strained effect with high volumes, the sound system is still able to complement the great visual for an overall fantastic cinematic experience.
